A Trio of Metal Porcupine Quill and Leather Boxes - A trio of decorative boxes comprising a metal foliate box, an ebony and porcupine quill box, and a leather jewellery box. The rectangular metal box features embossed relief depicting bamboo and foliate motifs, accented with small turquoise-coloured cabochons. The colonial style box is constructed with an ebony frame inlaid with bone dot decoration, housing rows of parallel porcupine quills. The jewellery box is finished in a black cross-hatched textured leather, opening to reveal a green silk and velvet-lined interior with a removable partitioned tray and central ring form. The brass lock plate is stamped with two lines of characters reading IMPROVED LOCK and the box retains its iron key. Width: 11.5 cm Width: 15.5 cm Width: 20 cm.
