A Silver Bright-Cut and Embossed Berry Spoon, London 1897 - A late Victorian silver berry spoon featuring a fluted oval bowl with a scalloped edge, heavily embossed with a central motif depicting a cluster of grapes and orchard fruit amongst scrolling foliage. The bowl interior is finished with a yellow gilt wash. The tapered stem and rounded handle are ornamented with bright-cut engraving in a repeating lozenge pattern interspersed with small four-leaf floral motifs. The reverse of the stem is marked with London hallmarks for 1897, including the maker mark GA for Chawner and Co. Length: 22 cm.
