The brass winding plate is stamped with the characters MADE IN ENGLAND, RABONE, CHESTERMAN, and LTD. The specialized gauging slide rule is constructed from boxwood with brass fittings and features various engraved logarithmic scales for liquid and malt duty calculations. The sliding component includes a table for Malt conversion and text detailing duties for spirits and cider, including calculations for Malt Wash to LW 1/4 .25 and Cyder or Perry to LW 1/5 20.
