A Porcelain Imari Hanakago Pattern Scalloped Charger - A Porcelain charger featuring a foliated scalloped rim decorated in a traditional palette of underglaze cobalt blue, overglaze iron-red enamel, and gilding. The central medallion depicts a Hanakago or flower basket overflowing with blossoms. The broad rim is divided into alternating lobed and fan-shaped vignettes; four panels depict phoenixes amidst flowering branches, while four smaller panels contain floral sprays, all set against grounds of deep blue and red diaper patterns. The underside is decorated with three stylized foliate scrolls in underglaze blue, and the base features a double circular ring in the same blue pigment. No readable maker's marks are present.
