A Rosewood and Mother of Pearl Victorian Sewing Box - A Victorian wood sewing box featuring a rectangular form with a hinged lid and a white shield-shaped mother of pearl escutcheon. The box is finished in a dark rosewood veneer and opens to a fitted interior containing a removable partitioned tray. The tray comprises eight compartments of various sizes, with two central compartments featuring hinged lids and white knobs. The interior of the lid, tray and base are lined throughout with a pink paper printed with a repeating dark purple floral and geometric pattern. The box is fitted with brass hinges and a front latch mechanism. Width: 25 cm.
