The design comprises alternating circular icons; one depicting the figure of Saint Benedict holding a cross and a book, and the other featuring the Saint Benedict Cross. The cross medallion contains the letters C S P B in the quadrants, C S S M L vertically, and N D S M D horizontally, encircled by a border of characters reading V R S N S M V S M Q L I V B.
