Elsie Bigman Navajo Wedding Vase - Traditional pottery with a pueblo design in the center, signed EB.  Elsie Bigman (aka Elsie Bigman Black). 9” tall. Artist info: Navajo Indian potter Elsie Bigman and her family have been making pottery for generations. They live in the heart of the Navajo Reservation in eastern Arizona. The pottery is 100% hand coiled and thrown. It is then fired in an outdoor pit with the heat generated from cow, sheep and other manures. After the firing process is complete, the pottery is coated with a near boiling pine pitch.
