EDO PERIOD KATANA, SIGNED BY HIZEN KOKU OMI DAIJO FUJIWARA TADAYOSHI, DATED 1726 A.D.
An Edo Period Katana, signed on the tang by Hizen Koku Omi Daijo Fujiwara Tadayoshi (IV) Dated the year 1726 on the tang. With a gold inlaid Fuchikashira and gold Menuki on each side. The fourth-generation Tadayoshi was born in the 8th year of the Kanbun era (1667) as the son of the third-gen Tadayoshi, also known as Mutsu no Kami Tadayoshi. The fourth gen’s birth name was Hashimoto Gensuke. He passed away in Enkyo 5th year September 9th, 1748 at the age of 80. The total length of the katana is 39" with a blade length of approximately 28".
