FRENCH SIGNED MINIATURE PORTRAIT IN GILT FRAME, 19TH CENTURY #1 - An antique French signed miniature portrait in gilt frame, circa late 19th century. Signature present on right side of portrait as shown in photos. Likely from the Victorian era, this antique French portrait miniature features a young woman beautifully painted and covered with glass. The back of the frame is marked and appears to be made in the Czechoslovakia. Czechoslovakia was a country in central Europe that was made up of Bohemia, Moravia, and Slovakia. It was formed in 1918 after World War I when Austria-Hungary collapsed. In 1993, Czechoslovakia peacefully split into the Czech Republic and Slovakia. This portrait measures in the frame, 5.25'' H x 4.25'' W.
