FRENCH CONGO ELAND, HORN RACK - A vintage horn rack from the French Congo, believed to be from an Eland. This rack measures on the mount (as if on the wall), 18'' H x 22'' W x 11.75'' D. The horns are slightly loose on the mount, but are in good condition otherwise. The common eland, also known as the southern eland or eland antelope, is a large-sized savannah and plains antelope found in East and Southern Africa. An adult male is around 1.6 m tall at the shoulder and can weigh up to 942 kg with a typical range of 500–600 kg. Females are around 1.4 m tall and weigh 340–445 kg.
