Bidspirit auction | 24 ”V” NICKELS

24 ”V” NICKELS - This lot features twenty-four (24) ”V” nickels from various years, kept in protective slips. The ”V” nickel, officially called the Liberty Head Nickel, was a U.S. five-cent coin minted from 1883 to 1912, with a few produced in 1913. It earned its nickname due to the large Roman numeral ”V” on the reverse, representing the coin's denomination. The coin was designed by Charles E. Barber, the U.S. Mint's Chief Engraver.
