FIVE 1963 SILVER FRANKLIN HALF DOLLARS - This lot features five (5) silver Franklin half dollars from 1963, kept in protective slips. 90% silver. The Franklin Half Dollar is a silver coin minted by the United States Mint from 1948 to 1963. It features Benjamin Franklin on the obverse and the Liberty Bell on the reverse. The coin was designed by John R. Sinnock, with some design elements added by Gilroy Roberts after Sinnock's death. The Franklin Half Dollar marked the end of the ”golden age of American coinage art” and the shift from allegorical figures to historical figures on coins.
