SALVATORE EMBLEMA, ”UNTITLED” #2 - ”Untitled”, a limited edition signed silkscreen on jute by listed artist, Salvatore Emblema. Edition 51/120, signed lower right and originally offered with the previous lot when first sold. The silkscreens were destroyed after this run. Measures on matting, 19.75'' H x 14'' W. Salvatore Emblema (1929–2006), an Italian artist who often worked with raw jute and natural pigments. Emblema's work is characterized by his exploration of transparency, often achieved by manipulating the fibers of raw jute or sackcloth, his preferred support. His work shows influences from American Abstract Expressionism, particularly the color field paintings of artists like Mark Rothko.
