CHARLES DICKENS, COLLECTION OF WORKS - TYMOR FARM - This lot features a collection of works by Charles Dickens, from The Heritage Press, circa 1939. From the Tymor Farm collection, stamped as shown in photos. From the collection of Jean Webster who was a niece of Mark Twain and her father was Mark Twain's publisher. She graduated from Vassar College in 1901. Jean and Ralph Connor, the daughter and son in law, inherited Tymor Farm and in 1971 donated five hundred acres of land to the people of Union Vale to be used as a park and recreation center. Charles Dickens was a renowned English author of the Victorian era, celebrated for his vivid characters, social commentary, and impactful storytelling. Born in 1812, he experienced financial hardship in his youth, including working in a factory as a child, which influenced his later writing. Dickens became a celebrated novelist, journalist, and social critic, known for works like Oliver Twist, A Christmas Carol, and Great Expectations.
