HOWARD PYLE, ”THE MERRY ADVENTURES OF ROBIN HOOD” - ”The Merry Adventures of Robin Hood”, hardcover edition printed by Charles Scribner's Sons in New York and published in 1920 by author, Howard Pyle. Howard Pyle (1853-1911) was a highly influential American illustrator and author, particularly known for his works for young people. He is considered one of the masters of the ”Golden Age of Illustration”. Pyle's work often featured historical adventure stories, and he's credited with creating the modern stereotype of pirate dress. He also founded the Howard Pyle School of Illustration Art.
