MACKENZIE-CHILDS BOWL - This lot features a vintage hand painted bowl by Victoria & Richard Mackenzie-Childs. Maker mark underneath as shown in photos. The MacKenzie-Childs story began with Victoria and Richard MacKenzie-Childs in 1983, creating hand-painted ceramics in rural New York, a style later called ”tradition with a twist” and inspired by the couple's daughter. After facing bankruptcy in 2000 due to financial issues, the brand was acquired in 2001 by Pleasant Rowland, founder of the American Girl doll company. Despite a subsequent dispute and the founders' departure, MacKenzie-Childs is now a thriving luxury home decor company known for its signature Courtly Check pattern and other whimsical, handcrafted designs.
