FENTON, ”DAHLIAS” TOPAZ OPALESCENT COVERED BOX - This lot features a Fenton ”Dahlias” on Topaz Opalescent covered box, hand-painted by artist Frances Burton. Edition 386/1950 and measures, 5.5'' H x 7'' W x 7'' D. The piece is crafted from Topaz Opalescent glass, which is a yellow mist color created by striking the opalescent glass before forming. The dahlia design features blue flowers with 22k gold highlights. The glass is also known as Vaseline glass and glows under a blacklight due to the use of depleted uranium in the glassmaking process.
