Hand signed circa 1931 and professionally framed. This piece measures (without frame), 15'' H x 10.25'' W. Kawase Hasui (1883–1957) was the foremost landscape artist of the shin-hanga (”new prints”) movement. Renowned for his serene, atmospheric scenes of snow, rain, and moonlight, he designed approximately 620 woodblock prints over his 40-year career. In 1956, the Japanese government honored him as a Living National Treasure. $2,000 reserve.
