KAWASE HASUI, ”HONMON TEMPLE AT IKEGAMI” - ”Honmon Temple at Ikegami”, an original Japanese woodblock print by listed artist, Kawase Hasui. This woodblock is hand-signed and measures (without frame), 15'' H x 10.25'' W. Kawase Hasui (1883–1957) was the foremost landscape artist of the shin-hanga (”new prints”) movement. Renowned for his serene, atmospheric scenes of snow, rain, and moonlight, he designed approximately 620 woodblock prints over his 40-year career. In 1956, the Japanese government honored him as a Living National Treasure. $5,000 reserve.
