Chinese Monochrome Red Vase - Chinese porcelain vase with a rich copper-red monochrome glaze over a classic meiping-style form, with rounded shoulders, tapered body and short neck. The recessed base bears a six-character mark, reading ?Made during the Xuande reign of the Great Ming.? The mark appears to be an apocryphal reign mark rather than proof of Xuande-period manufacture. Fine mottling and tonal variation are visible throughout the glaze, with a small crack at the foot as shown. Measures 3.25” tall
