Oil on canvas, inscribed and dated on the reverse: 'Mattenheimer pinxit / 1809'. 49 x 41 cm. - Cracking, minimal loss of paint. - A similarly composed portrait of a gentleman from 1805 is held in the Bamberg Historical Museum (Inv. No. 1030).
