Georg Brandes - Georg Brandes, Interior with Cyclamen. 1913.. Georg Brandes 1878 Hanover – circa 1952 Berlin Oil on canvas. Signed and dated ”Georg Brandes 13” upper left. Verso with an old label on the crossbar, numbered in blue ”470”. Framed in a simple, silver-plated frame. The work has not been unframed. Paint layer in the rebate areas and especially on the left side with abrasions and material loss, also with flaking or craquelure formation. The paint layer in the central area also with horizontal folds, lower center with a small bump. Dimensions: 81 x 65 cm, Frame: 87.7 x 72 cm. Georg Brandes 1878 Hanover – circa 1952 Berlin German painter, caricaturist, and press illustrator. Studied at the School of Applied Arts and Academy Dresden, further educated in Paris. Contributed to the satirical magazine ”Kladderadatsch”. Lived in Berlin.
