Karl Kröner - Karl Kröner ”Hyacinth and Fruits”. 1925.. Karl Kröner 1887 Zschopau – 1971 Radebeul Oil on canvas. Signed and dated ”Karl Kröner 1925” lower right. On the reverse, inscribed by the artist's hand ”Ö[l]. 107”, titled, signed again and provided with the artist's address ”Niederlössnitz-Dresden Paradiesstr. 20 Turmhaus”. In a profiled frame with gold-colored leaf metal overlay. Paint layer partially with early shrinkage craquelure. Small detachments and paint losses in the area of the fruits. A larger lifting of the paint layer in the lemon, right center. Isolated pictorial overpaints on the varnish, probably by the artist's hand. Varnish partly uneven and with yellowish run marks center. Surface with light dirt deposits. Edges of the frame with defects in the setting. Dimensions: 47.7 x 55 cm, Frame 60.5 x 67.5 cm. Karl Kröner 1887 Zschopau – 1971 Radebeul Landscape painter and graphic artist in Kötzschenbroda near Dresden. 1904–08 studied at the Dresden School of Applied Arts. 1910–14 studied at the Dresden Art Academy, master student of Eugen Bracht and Gotthardt Kuehl. 1914 moved into the studio of the deceased painter Wilhelm Claus in the tower house of Grundhof (Paradiesstraße Radebeul). 1944 fire at the studio in the tower house. Member of the Dresden artist group ”Die Sieben”.
