Framed in a grey-white finished model strip with a silver-plated visible edge. Provenance: Private collection Dresden; Galerie Döbele, Dresden-Ravensburg; Private collection Franken. Support with small holes in the corners, these slightly rubbed and bumped. Paint layer with several small retouches in the area of the left shoulder and on the right edge, slight craquelure. Verso in the corners with abrasions and material losses due to a former adhesive mounting. Frame slightly bumped. Dimensions: 54 x 46 cm, frame 69.5 x 59.5 cm. Richard Sander 1906 Glogau – 1987 Dresden 1924–25 attended the Arthur Wasner School of Art, Breslau. 1925–33 studied at the Dresden Art Academy with R. Müller, M. Feldbauer and F. Dorsch. Master student with L. von Hofmann. Since 1933 working freelance as a painter. 1939/40 School of Applied Arts, weaving department with Wanda Bibrowicz. Since 1945 working freelance as a painter and tapestry artist in Cossebaude.
