Oskar Seidel - Oskar Seidel, Ploughing Farmer in the Evening Light. Probably 1880s/1890s.. Oskar Seidel 1845 Löwenberg (Silesia) – 1900 Dresden-Blasewitz Oil on canvas. Signed lower right ”O. Seidel”. Verso numbered ”144” in crayon. Framed in a silver-colored, contemporary frame. Support relined, edges somewhat unevenly cut. Paint layer with minor scratches on the left, small paint losses on the right and bottom. Rabbet area on the upper left edge slightly rubbed. Dimensions: Approx. 43 x 72 cm, frame 52 x 80 cm. Oskar Seidel 1845 Löwenberg (Silesia) – 1900 Dresden-Blasewitz Landscape and figure painter. Studied at the Berlin Academy with Julius Schrader, further education at the Weimar Art School. Member of the Goppelner School of Painting. Also active as a restorer in Dresden. Exhibitions in Dresden, Berlin and Munich.
