Peter Albert 1936 Dresden – lives in Dresden From 1953, several years of drawing and painting lessons with the Dresden painter Etha Richter. 1954–61 studied architecture at the TH Dresden. 1961–65 assistant at the Chair of Painting and Graphics at the Faculty of Architecture of the TH Dresden under Prof. Nerlich and Prof. Mühler. 1962 first geometric-abstract works, parallel to realistic-expressionist paintings, first prints. 1963–65 large-format abstract fine art works on buildings. 1965–95 architect at the Institute for Cultural Buildings Berlin/Dresden, later planning group for assembly venues. 1973–77 collaboration on the planning of the Syrian National Theatre and engagement with Arabic ornamentation. 1979 first solo exhibition in the Gewandhaus Dresden. Design and planning work for the reconstruction of important cultural buildings in Dresden (including Dresden Castle). 1987/88 study trips to Paris and New York. Since 1995, working as an independent architect – involved in the planning of the Taschenbergpalais, the Kulturpalast, the Kreuzkirche, among others.
