Charles Crodel 1894 Marseille – 1973 Munich German painter, graphic artist, designer. 1918–21 studied art history and archaeology in Jena. 1918 married painter Elisabeth von Fiebig-Angelstein. 1919 first prints. Travels to Italy and Sweden, among others. 1927 subject teacher for graphics and drawing at the KGS Burg Giebichenstein Halle. 1933 ostracized by the National Socialists. 1951–63 professorship at the AK Munich. 1956 full member of the AK Berlin (West). 1958–65 visiting professorships in the USA. 1968 honorary member of the Bavarian Academy of Fine Arts.
