Wolfgang Frankenstein - Wolfgang Frankenstein ”Horses and Gauchos III”. 1972.. Wolfgang Frankenstein 1918 Berlin – 2010 there Oil on hardboard. Monogrammed and dated lower right ”WF 72”. Verso titled, dated and signed. Framed in a gold-colored fluted moulding. Not in WVZ Clausnitzer, but compare motif with ”Pferde und Gauchos I”, WVZ Clausnitzer 337 and ”Pferde und Gauchos II”, WVZ Clausnitzer 341. Irregularly varnished. Slight flaking of the paint layer on the lower edge. Frame slightly bumped. The work was not unframed. Dimensions: 50 x 70 cm, frame 60.3 x 79.7 cm. Wolfgang Frankenstein 1918 Berlin – 2010 there 1926–39 drawing lessons with Kuhfuß and evening studies at the United State Schools for Free and Applied Arts Berlin-Charlottenburg with Max Kaus. 1937–39 training as a commercial artist at the advertising studio Triclair. 1939–43 study ban, military service and further studies, among others with Kaus. 1943/44 worked as a technical draftsman in the Berliner Physikalische Werkstätten and as a commercial artist. 1944 sent to the labor camp of Organisation Todt. Admitted to the psychiatric hospital Berlin-Nikolassee. 1945–53 freelance in West Berlin and involved in building up the Berlin art scene.
