Sighard Gille 1941 Eilenburg – lives in Leipzig German painter, graphic artist, photographer and sculptor. 1959–60 first studied agriculture at Humboldt University Berlin. Professional qualification as a portrait photographer in evening courses and attendance at the evening academy of the HGB Leipzig. 1965–70 studied painting with Bernhard Heisig and Wolfgang Mattheuer at the HGB Leipzig. Master student with Bernhard Heisig. Freelance and teaching activities at the HGB Leipzig, 1992 professorship for painting. Gille participated in numerous national and international exhibitions and received various awards, including the National Prize of the GDR in 1982.
