Dimensions: 60 x 50 cm, frame 73 x 62.5 cm. Günter Horlbeck 1927 Reichenbach (Vogtland) – 2016 Leipzig German painter and graphic artist. Completed a lithographer apprenticeship from 1942–47, which was interrupted by conscription into the military. Subsequently, he studied until 1951 at the Hochschule für Grafik und Buchkunst in Leipzig, under Walter Arnold, Max Schwimmer, and Ernst Hassebrauk. From 1952, friendship with Max Schwimmer. Afterwards, he worked as a freelance artist. Taught from 1952–93 at the HfBK Dresden. His works can be assigned to Abstract Expressionism. Role models were Beckmann, Picasso, and Kandinsky.
