Hans Jüchser - Hans Jüchser ”Studio Scene”. 1963.. Hans Jüchser 1894 Chemnitz – 1977 Dresden Oil on canvas. Signed and dated ”Jüchser ''63” lower right. On the reverse, over a landscape representation (?) painted over in white by the artist, titled, dated, signed again in brush and provided with the studio address ”1963 Jüchser, Dresden 8054”, and with dimensions in chalk, probably by another hand. In the artist's original light and dark grey painted frame. Hans Jüchser occupied studio K on the mezzanine floor in the Loschwitz Künstlerhaus from 1950 to 1977. The ”Studio Scene” shows the view from the large studio window to the north, towards the house of the musician, musicologist and grandson of the builder of the Künstlerhaus Martin Pietzsch, Prof. Dr. Wolfram Steude (1931 Plauen – 2006 Dresden). The so-called ”Kleines Künstlerhaus” (Small Artist's House) was also built in 1900 by Martin Pietzsch on the foundations of an old vineyard house. After Hans Jüchser, Max Uhlig and Werner Hofmann moved into Studio K. Today, Veit Hofmann works in these rooms. Support with inconspicuous deformations, in the unprocessed fold area and verso with binder stains. Small notch in the paint layer center right next to the standing figure. Keys of the stretcher frame supplemented. Frame with open mitre joints, significant losses of paint, especially on the lower frame strip, and scratches. Dimensions: 50 x 60 cm, frame 61.5 x 71.5 cm. Military service in World War I. 1919–23 Studied at the School of Applied Arts Dresden under Arno Drescher and Georg Erler. 1920–34 Member of the Dresden Artists' Association. 1927 Marriage to Paula Jüchser, née Schmidt. 1927 Study trip to southern Sweden and Bornholm. Until 1928, studied at the Dresden Art Academy, master student of Otto Hettner and Ludwig von Hofmann. 1928–39 worked freelance in Dresden, 1930–34 member of ASSO and the ”Dresdner Sezession 1932” there, from 1934 with the ”Gruppe der 7”. 1939 Study trip to Italy. From 1940, military service in the Wehrmacht. After World War II and a period of captivity, worked freelance again in Dresden-Wachwitz from 1950, and exhibited again from 1946. 1959 Marriage to Helga Jüchser, née Schütze.
