Stefan Plenkers - Stefan Plenkers, Composition with female figures. 1986.. Stefan Plenkers 1945 Ebern/Bamberg – 2024 Kreischa Oil on canvas. Signed and dated ”Plenkers 86” lower right. Framed in a narrow black wooden strip nailed around the edges (artist's frame). On the lower outer side of the frame, probably incorrectly titled ”Kneipenrunde (3 Köpfe)” (Pub Crawl (3 Heads)) by the artist in white chalk. Small paint layer defects lower right next to the signature and two tiny pastosity defects upper right. Frame strips show some signs of wear. Dimensions: 65 x 100 cm, frame 67.5 x 102.5 cm. Stefan Plenkers 1945 Ebern/Bamberg – 2024 Kreischa 1963–65 apprenticeship as a typesetter. 1967–72 studied graphic arts at the Hochschule für Bildende Künste Dresden with Gerhard Kettner, Günter Horlbeck and Herbert Kunze. From 1969 oil painting. 1973–74 freelance artist in Bad Muskau, then Cottbus. 1975–77 master student of Gerhard Kettner. Several study trips to Europe, Asia, America and the Orient. Participation in several ”Art Exhibitions of the GDR”, as well as solo exhibitions and participations in German art centers.
