This verso upper right with annotations in ink. Corners slightly dented, overall slightly creased. Verso studio traces and traces of former mounting. Meinolf Splett 1911 Halle (Saale) – 2009 ebenda From a Catholic-influenced family of teachers. 1926–1929 lithographer apprenticeship, as well as drawing lessons with Otto Fischer-Lamberg and modeling with Paul Horn. 1932 master title for lithographic trade. 1923–1933 master student with Erwin Hahs at Kunstgewerbeschule Burg Giebichenstein, from 1933 at Staatliche Akademie für Graphische Künste und Buchgewerbe in Leipzig. 1939–40 imprisoned for anti-Nazi statements, some works destroyed. From 1940 conscripted into the Wehrmacht. 1947 co-founder of the Halle artists' association ”Die Fähre”. 1954–1956 lecturer for lithography at the Hochschule für Kunst und Design Burg Giebichenstein. Very religious, which led to conflicts with the GDR government, therefore no professorship. 1957 co-founder of the gallery ”Wort und Werk” Leipzig. 1958 founded the printing workshop of the District Association of Fine Artists Halle, managed it until 1976.
