Legal document on parchment from 1533. 22 handwritten lines in brown ink with the Elector's signature in black ink. With attached red wax seal. 36 x 49 cm. Folded. Historical letter of enfeoffment in which Elector Johann Friedrich I confirms to the von Kanitz family (named Ludwig, Wolff, Ulrich, Hanns, and Baltasar) that they remain the rightful lords of the village of Treben and the surrounding lands, after the fief had lapsed due to a death (becoming available for re-granting). A deserted village (abandoned settlement) called Gnanndstein is mentioned, as well as areas near Torgessen. Fishing rights (free waters) on the Pleiße River (the Pola) remain exceptions or are regulated separately. Court officials Wolfgang Luckas and Hans von Selmenitz are named as witnesses. - Seal with missing parts.
