Epstein - Letter to a Professor - Music. - Epstein, Julius (Pianist; Zagreb 1832 - Vienna 1926). Autograph letter to a professor. Dated July 1893. 4 pages on 1 double sheet. 18 x 11 cm. Epstein was a professor at the Vienna Conservatory of the Society of Friends of Music from 1867 to 1901. His students included Ignaz Brüll, Marcella Sembrich, Gustav Mahler, and Mathilde Kralik von Meyerswalden. He writes about a female student whom he had grown fond of and who was always diligent and ambitious.
