On the letterhead of the Leipzig City Theatre, in his capacity as opera director, Neumann writes to 'Your Excellency' and asks whether a performance of 'Nathan' with his 'full ensemble' would be acceptable. - Addressed below in another hand of the time, and above with the date 10/1 'rejected'. - Left corners each with a narrow tear (without loss of text).
