Winternitz - Handwritten letter - Music. - Winternitz, Arnold (Conductor and composer; 1874–1928). Handwritten letter with signature, probably addressed to Richard Batka. Dated 'Hamburg, March 27, 1914'. Two pages on one double sheet. Winternitz worked at the Auditorium Theatre in Chicago from 1912 to 1914, and then in Hamburg until 1920. The music critic Richard Batka (1868–1922) taught at the Vienna Academy of Music and published numerous works on music history. – Reports on a concert in Vienna and his work in the USA.
