Persian manuscript - Persian manuscript On paper. Circa 1800. Approximately 90 leaves with handwritten entries in black ink, some rubrics, and small gilt decorations; the text block is edged in gilt. Small octavo. Decorative, richly gilt-tooled contemporary leather binding with flap and spine title in Greek (joints partially restored). Decorative handwriting, the double-sided title page with delicate floral painting in colors and gold, text mostly in one column, sometimes in three columns, each framed by a narrow gold border, sometimes interrupted by a wide gold border. - Wide margins, text area approx. 9 x 6 cm. - Somewhat finger-marked, first and last leaves with brown spots in the upper outer corner (small areas of paper damage, title page somewhat more pronounced), 1 leaf with a repaired tear.
