Schmeißer family register, 1823 - Family registers. 'Dedicated to Friendship'. Album of the pupil Christian Schmeißer from Daaden in Rhineland-Palatinate. With 47 mostly hand-colored copper engravings (by Wiederhold in Göttingen), 38 of which have handwritten entries on the verso. Mostly Daaden, Wetzlar and Soest, 1823-34. Oblong small octavo. Loose in a contemporary marbled half-leather slipcase with gilt title (slightly rubbed). Christian Friedrich Karl Heinrich Schmeißer (1809-1879) studied medicine in Giessen and Berlin and was a physician and director of the municipal hospital in Siegen. - With entries from his friends and 'housemates' H. Mellinghaus, C. Rose, Holbach, Fr. Wernershagen, August Bogner, Carl and Daniel Nickol, Heinrich Groos, Julius Jung, Ernst Wolff von Gudenberg, etc., his girlfriends Emma Rösler, Rosalie Hein, etc., his uncle Carl Friedrich Schmeißer and his cousin from Wiesbaden, his cousins Henriette, Christiane and Charlotte, etc.
