Faul - Album amicorum Mannheim 1821 - Family registers. Album Amicorum. 47 leaves, 31 of which contain handwritten entries. With 4 colored wood engravings and 2 watercolors. Mostly Mannheim, 1821-22. Oblong 12°. Loose in a red leather box with rich gilt tooling and gilt-stamped dedication 'In memory of Jos. Koelges for Ph. Faul' on the front cover in marbled lettering. Contemporary cardboard slipcase (slipcase somewhat rubbed). The colored copperplate engravings depicting lovers with accompanying mottos, and the watercolors with motifs from the Friendship Monument. The handwritten entries are by, among others, Louis Bering, Daniel Becker von Speyer, Karolin Bedner, Jos. Koelges, August Kreiss, and Heinrich August von Wachenheim. Also included is a handwritten sheet with a dedication from a descendant of the original owner, dated 1928.
