Stammbuch Springer Schneeberg - Family registers. Album amicorum (probably) of Springer, the son of a merchant from Schneeberg in the Ore Mountains. With 34 handwritten entries on approximately 180 leaves. Mostly Schneeberg, also Hanover, Zwickau, Leipzig, etc., 1818-25. With one colored mounted copper engraving, one watercolor, and one interwoven silk ribbon. Oblong small octavo. Contemporary leather binding with two colored spine labels ('Sacré à l'amitié') (scuffed). With entries by his father Friedrich August, his mother Ernestine, his siblings Philippine, Richard and Bertha, his teacher at the civic school in Schneeberg Johann Gotthilf Clauß (1780-1862; honorary citizen of Schneeberg, Freemason, corresponded with Pestalozzi), his friends and classmates Christoph L. Wicke, Franz Rudolph Naumann, Magnus Schnorr, Ferdinand Härtel (1803-1885, later city councilor in Schneeberg), Alexander Schnorr, Theodor Seelhorst, among others, his cousins Ernestine and Philippine Härtel, his cousin Louis Härtel, etc. - Some light foxing. - Enclosed is a typescript with biographical information and copies relating to Springer and some entries.
