August von Plonski's family register - Family registers. Album of August von Plonski, a grammar school student from Erfurt. 50 handwritten entries on 60 leaves. With 7 dried applied flowers, leaves, and seaweed, 1 small pen drawing, and 1 entry with watercolor text and 4 small drawings. Mostly from Erfurt, occasionally from Frankfurt, 1849-53. Oblong octavo. Loose leaves in a gilt-stamped cardboard slipcase (slightly bumped, front cover loose). Von Plonski was a student at the Royal Gymnasium in Erfurt and in 1853 was 'shortly before his Abitur'. The book begins with a deed of gift from his aunt Wilhelmine Vogel, née von Plonski ('As a gift on August 11, 1849, for my dear nephew...'), followed by entries from his uncles Heinrich, Carl, Gottfried von Duering, his aunts Friederike Gillet, Gertrud and Agnes Seitz, Emma, his great-uncle Fr. Gillet, his friends Louis Mann, G. Kaufmann, Hugo Wunderitz, HW Heinrich, Rudolf Koch, F. Galli, Joseph von Radowitz (1839-1912; diplomat in the Foreign Office), Eugen von Blankenburg, August Rochlitz, and others, as well as his teachers Müller, Dr. Biester, Schoenaich, W. Ulrich, Dr. Kritz, and others. The plant appliqués are by Plonski himself, combined with reminiscences of 'the beautiful garden', a trip, Merano, and other places.
