Hombergk - Stammbuch 1804 - Family registers. Album amicorum of Friedrich CG Hombergk. With approximately 100 handwritten entries on 100 loose leaves. Marburg, Gießen, Heidelberg, and other mostly North Hessian locations. Dated between 1804 and 1811. With 6 silhouettes, 4 drawings (pen, brush, pencil), as well as 1 watercolor and 1 engraving. Oblong small octavo. Contemporary red gilt-stamped leather cover with gilt-stamped spine label 'Monument of Friendship' in marble. Cardboard slipcase (slipcase slightly bumped). The entries are mostly from Hombergk's fellow students, including Friedrich Claudius (1789-1862), son of the poet Matthias Claudius, and the jurist and politician Karl-Theodor Welcker (1790-1869), as well as the theologian Carl Creuzer (1768-1844). Further entries come from Wittgenstein, Kassel, Steinbrücken, Battenberg, and elsewhere.
