Franz Rieger Family Register - Family registers. Family register of Franz Rieger, born in Bunzlau in 1834. With approximately 70 handwritten entries on 80 leaves. Initially mostly from Alt-Friedland, later from Berlin, Eichberg, and Liegnitz, 1860-1923. With 5 mounted pencil drawings and 1 mounted photograph from 1913. Oblong quarto. Contemporary black velvet binding with rich gilt tooling, gilt lettering 'F. Rieger' on the back cover. Franz Rieger was likely a (music) teacher in Alt-Friedland around 1860. The book contains entries from 1860-62 from his students M. and Anna Hendler, as well as Hugo and Emil Zipp, and also from his friends Auguste Conrad, Pauline Hartisch, Eduard Hendler, Vally Sommer, Helene Hirschberg, and others. It also includes entries from 1915-1923 from Maria Baroness von Freyberg, his childhood friend Lilly Titel, Robert Keesenack, Gustav Scholz, the Paul Krause family, his daughter-in-law Martha, his father Otto Rieger, and others. Furthermore, there is an entry dated 'Liegnitz, October 25, 1919' with numerous signatures, presumably on the occasion of the wedding of Rieger's son ('Franz Rieger, the father of the bride'), and at the end, an entry concerning his death ('A loving heart has today sung the last word of its last song...').
