Family register GH Besser - Family registers. Album amicorum of Gotthelf Heinrich Besser (probably) from Leobschütz (Silesia). With 35 handwritten entries on approximately 115 leaves. Mostly Berlin and Cosel, as well as Leobschütz and Neisse. 1830-42. With 3 watercolors. Oblong small octavo. Contemporary half-leather binding with gilt edges, colored covers with mounted paper borders, and an embossed gold appliqué mounted in the center of the front cover (somewhat rubbed). With entries by the sisters Auguste and Fridericke, his later wife Emilie Palmig, his brothers-in-law Adolph and Hermann Palmig, as well as Johann Peter Neidinger, Albert Neumann, Leo Julius Zellner, Carl Schwindtcke, and others. GH Besser was the house father (or administrator) of a prison in Berlin. The watercolors depict an angel next to a memorial plaque in a green landscape, a still life of fruit with insects, and a castle ruin. The endpaper and two leaves are loose, some with slight foxing.
