Cover - leather with gold embossing - Bindings.- Red full leather binding with ornamental gilt spine and gilt border on both covers. Probably London, circa 1800. 22 blank leaves. 4to (33 x 20.5 cm). Edges and joints rubbed. Decorative binding, usable as a guest book, wine list, etc. - Handwritten ownership inscription from 1864 on the first white page by (Sir) John Gilbert 'Vanbrugh Park Blackheath' (1817-1897; London history painter and illustrator of, among others, 'Punch', the 'Illustrated London News' and the 'London Journal'), otherwise without entries.
