Edict of Frankfurt 1725 - Coffee edict of the Mayor and Council of the City of Frankfurt against 'Caffè-Schanck'. Dated August 9, 1725. 1 double sheet in a red original cloth folder with 2 handwritten titles on the cover (somewhat stained). Therefore, by virtue of this decree, the serving of coffee, tea, chocolate, rosé, and all such beverages for money is hereby prohibited to public innkeepers, as well as to tree innkeepers, confectioners, perfumers, brewers, cooks, or stewards at weddings, in ballrooms, and other private establishments, both during and between fairs.
