Contemporary leather binding over wooden boards with 8 corner clasps (heavily rubbed). Schmidt 382 ff. - 28th edition of the richly illustrated Dilherr Bible with portraits of the Saxon Electors. The six full-page copperplate engravings each have text on the reverse and one leaf describing the depicted biblical figures. The woodcuts of this so-called Endter II version are monogrammed with, among others, 'M' and 'EP' (Elias Porzel). - The last two leaves of the Apostles' Creed are missing. - Somewhat damp-stained in places, endpapers and pastedowns renewed, first engraved title and printed title with backed tears (extending into the image), the first and last leaves frayed at the edges.
