Heavy Walloon Broadsword, 17th century
Heavy and substantial broadsword of the Walloon type with wide blade and single edge slightly tapering upward towards end and high shallow fuller. Handle pierced and in heavy iron with finger loop and characteristic D guard with one downturned quillion. The grip is a tightly wound twisted wire of multiple styles and pommel is round with peened end. Size 40 1/2" L, blade 34 1/2" L
