Ibeji Female Twin Figures with Beads
Yoruba people, Nigeria. Wonderfully detailed hand carved pair of Ibeji female twins, each adorned with necklaces, bracelets, anklets and belts. Wearing elaborate heavily detailed and incised headdresses, with pierced ears. Each figure depicted standing nude with arms at their sides, ample breasts and statuesque buttocks. Noted scarification to lower abdomens and faces of each, with incised pubic hair detail. Size of tallest 8 3/4" H x 3 3/4" W
